Laura Leticia
Laura Leticia has lived in Piedras Negras for seven years. She and her family are Christians and come from Monterrey. They decided to move to Piedras Negras because her father's three brothers died of cancer, and that's why they decided to move. They are a small but close family and always support each other. Laura Leticia is a very responsible person and likes to help her family. This is why she is asking for Kiva's support to build an extra bedroom onto her house because right now they only have one bedroom, a bathroom, and a living/dining room. She wants to contribute towards the house so that they have a bigger property and hopes that her family will feel proud of her.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
