Kinyua is a resident of Nkubu in Central Kenya, where he lives with his wife and two children, ages 6 and 2 years old. He has been in farming for ten years and currently produces mainly milk and tea for the local market. His family upkeep fully relies on farming income.
Kinyua has made a loan request of 60,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo, which he will use to buy poultry birds for a venture into poultry farming. He wants diversify his farming business and believes poultry farming will enable him have gainful returns and educate his children.
He notes that poor rains are currently leading to crop failure.
