Modesta is 47 years old, married, and has two school-age children. Her business is selling sweaters and shawls made from alpaca wool to 'mujeres de polleras' (ladies who dress in traditional Bolivian style). Her sales location is in Alto de la Alianza district.
This loan is Modesta's first from the institution. She will use it to buy building materials as she would like to remodel an area in her home in which to keep her merchandise. She has lots of sweaters and shawls right now as she makes a lot of sales at this time of year. She also has orders which she will deliver to different markets in the city of El Alto.
Modesta's business challenges include stocking her business with enough merchandise. She will use the profits she makes in her business to continue making wholesale purchases of sweaters and shawls.
