Rose is married with seven children, five of which go to school. She also takes care of additional family members (grand children). She has a business selling charcoal and has been in this business for 10 years. She has applied for a loan of 1,800,000 Uganda Shillings from MCDT SACCO of buy more bags of charcoal. She generates additional income from a food stall, a bar and also selling firewood. She works from her home seven days a week. Her major business challenges include transportation and seasonality. She aspires to own a delivery van to ease in transportation, and hopes to build rental rooms. She resides in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include paying for electricity and water, school fees and feeding her family.
