Resty lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with four children and all her children go to school. She has three additional family members (a sister and her daughter and a cousin).
She operates a beauty salon at the market on a retail basis. She gets additional income from providing outside catering services. She has been in this business for the last 11 years. She works seven days a week.
She has requested a loan of 600,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT–SACCO to buy hair treatments, relaxers, shampoo, rollers and a hand dryer. Her major business challenge is electricity. Her goals and aspirations are to become a wholesaler and also to buy a plot of land. She lives in a rented house and the family has no access to electricity or piped water. Her monthly expenses include medication, rent and food.
