Lorie is 50 years old with six children. She lives Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur. She owns and operates farmland, planting and harvesting rice for sale in the local community to earn a living. She has been in her business for over eight years and earns 45,000 PHP (Philippines pesos) every month.
She joined GDMPC in the year 2009, and now she has requested a loan of 50,000 PHP to purchase fetilizer such as manure. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
