Hou S. lives in Siem Reap Province with her husband and two children. She sells souvenirs by the temple each day and makes around $15 in revenue. Her husband is a teacher at the local school, making around $10 each day. Inflation has been very high in Cambodia over the past year and it has affected food prices and the costs of other basic necessities. Hou S. is requesting a loan of $1200 to expand her business through the purchase of more souvenirs. She sees this investment as a way to increase her family’s daily profit and improve their standard of living.
