The Communal Bank “Amistad Eterna” (Eternal Friendship) is starting its fifth loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Senkata Community Center. This group consists of nine members and is led by a Board of Directors headed by Sra. Verónica as its president. The members of the Communal Bank engage in various businesses such as weaving blankets, making mattresses, managing a neighborhood store, and selling food.


This loan will benefit small businesswomen, such as Sra. Verónica. She says that she has participated in two loan cycles since joining Pro Mujer after receiving an invitation from a friend who is also a member of the organization. Verónica currently has a business of selling fruit. She learned this line of work through her own initiative and used a small amount of savings to start her business.


The loan she is receiving now will be used to increase her capital for buying fruit. She acquires her inventory from wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz and then sells the goods from her sales post. Working in this manner enables her to generate income to maintain her household. Verónica is in a common-law relationship and has one child.


When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Verónica says that she enjoys the savings and the training seminars about health and credit.

La A.C. “AMISTAD ETERNA” iniciará el quinto ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Senkata, está compuesta por nueve integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Verónica es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: tejido de mantas de hilo, elaboración de colchones, tienda de barrio, venta de comida.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Verónica es integrante, ella indica que hace dos ciclos que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de su amiga que es socia de la institución. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de venta de fruta; da a conocer que este negocio lo emprendió por iniciativa propia y al contar con un pequeño ahorro emprendió este negocio.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de capital (compra de fruta) que adquirirá de las vendedoras mayoristas de la ciudad de La Paz, posteriormente lo comercializará en su puesto de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener en lo posible a su hogar pues ella vive en unión libre y tiene un hijo.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta ahorro, las capacitaciones en salud y crédito.
