Alexander Joseth
Alexander, 20, is single and lives with his parents and siblings in the city of Cañete, in the Imperial district. He is a very kind, hardworking, and enthusiastic person who has a strong desire to excel. Thanks to his efforts, Alexander was able to study to become a mechanic. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, and at times he cooks the rich "Arroz con Pollo" (chicken and rice) dish to share with his family.

On his own initiative, and with a lot of work and dedication, Alexander started his own mechanics workshop, where he provides auto repair services. He works every day for about 10 hours, and he believes that the business is doing well because of the good work that he does, and because of the friendly service he provides to his customers.

Alexander is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, because thanks to the help they are providing, he will be able to make some improvements to his home. He wants to rebuild the roof of his house with materials that are more water resistant and durable, because the current roof is made from woven straw and plastic. When the rainy season comes, he wants to provide better security and well-being for his family. He plans to continue to work and exert himself so that he can achieve his greatest dream: to have a big automotive repair shop.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
