Parveen's Group
In this Group: Parveen, Fehmida, Mariyam, Gulnaz, Mumtaz, Asian, Tahira
Ms. Parveen is 45 years old and a married woman, running a business of milk sales with the support of her husband. They have six years of experience in the field. They have two buffaloes in milk, and they sell the milk to many of their neighbors. Parveen looks after the buffaloes and performs the task of collecting milk from the animals, while her husband sells the milk to different places on a daily basis. They are happily doing this together, to support their family.

Parveen has four children, and they need to earn much more to meet the everyday expenditures of their family, including food, clothing, and education. In order to make more profit, Parveen has requested a loan from Kiva's partner, BRAC Pakistan, to purchase one more buffalo. After the loan they will get more milk and be able to cater to more customers. She hopes to have an increase in their production capacity, which ultimately will help in generating more cash.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
