Sotero
Sotero is a 56 years old man who lives with his partner and their four children. He has been a farmer since he was ten years old. His father taught him how to grow corn. In addition to farming he cares for cows. During the harvest he cuts sugar cane and he also buys and sells chocolate. He gets up at 3am in order to feed the cows. Afterwards he goes out to cut sugar cane. His bus leaves at 4:45 am and returns at 6pm.
The farming supplies that he needs he gets from the city. He walks for ten minutes to catch the bus that takes him on the thirty-minute ride to the city. On the return trip he carries the supplies on his back to his house.
This loan, that he is requesting from the Countryside Foundation, will be used to buy seeds, fertilizer, foliar fertilizer, pay for workers and pay for 14,000 square meters of land that he will use to grow corn. His wish is to buy his own land, which he can work and later give to his children so they have places to build their houses.

Sotero tiene 56 años de edad, esta acompañado y tiene cuatro hijos. Él se dedica a la agricultura desde que tenia 10 años de edad; su padre fue quien le enseño a sembrar maíz. A parte de la agricultura también cuida unas vacas; en el tiempo de la zafra realiza las actividades de corta de caña de azúcar y también compra y vende coco. Se levanta a las 3:00 a.m. a darle de comer a las vacas, luego se alista para marcharse a cortar caña, al autobús pasa a las 4:45 a.m. y regresa a las 6:00 p.m.

Los insumos agrícolas los adquiere en la ciudad, camina a pie unos diez minutos para abordar el autobús este recorrido le lleva unos treinta minutos; luego debe trasladarlos en su espalda hasta su casa.

El préstamo que esta solicitando a Fundación Campo, es para comprar semilla, abono, herbicidas, foliares, pago de mano de obra y para pagar arrendamiento de 14,000 metros cuadrados de terreno para sembrar maíz. Su deseo, es comprar su propio terreno para trabajar y dejarles a sus hijos un lugar donde construir sus casas.
