Nassir is married and has children who all attend school. Nassir works at a grocery store, which is in his home. He has had this business for years.
At the grocery store, he sells retail products such as coffee, tomato sauce, rice, beans, soap, sugar, milk and bread. All of these come in small quantities. He started the business as a way to have income for his family, since he does not have an education due to a lack of resources and money.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
