A loan of $1,875 helped a member to purchase three local piglets.

Mekar Sandat Group's story

This is the sixth loan for the Mekar Sandat group. They still need financial support to support their businesses, until they are able to continue the businesses with their own capital. With every sale of a pig, they save some funds for venture capital.

Ni Made, a housewife, has two children. One child is in elementary school, and the other one is a toddler.

She will use her loan to purchase three local piglets. She plans to sell the piglets for pigroll (a stuffed pork dish). Pig for pig bolsters (suckling pigs) are easier to care for than superior pigs, and sell faster. She hopes her new plan can be more successful.

She spends 15,000 IDR to rent a kitchen for a day, and 100,000 IDR for electricity per month.
