Rosita is 58 years old and married with 5 children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She owns and operates a business that sells rice cakes in the local community to earn a living. She has been in her business for more than 8 years and earns 8,000 PHP every month. She joined GDMPC in 2011, and now she has requested a loan of 10,000 PHP to purchase some ingredients for making rice cakes to sell. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from her business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
