Siloi is 23 years old, and single, with two children. She plans to start a business selling crafts, design materials, tapa cloths, weaving fans, weaving mats and design boards. She has requested a loan to buy paints, rubber rollers, brushes, tools and fabric materials. Siloi will use her profits to improve her business to help her her family and to educate her children. She has been a member of South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) since 2012.
South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) improves conditions for families living in poverty by providing accessible credit, training, and guidance to help them start, grow and maintain micro-businesses, build assets, finance home improvements, and afford to educate their children. 99% of SPBD’s loans go to women, who can borrow in groups to guarantee one another rather than put up collateral.
