MAULID, who is in his late twenties, is married with two sons, one of whom goes to school and another one is still a baby. He has been planting and selling vegetables right from his garden since 2002. He works from 4.00 am to 6.00 pm daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be MAULID's 5th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to start buying and selling traditional chicken, bought fertilizers, insecticide and has paid back all of his loans successfully. He used the interest to buy a plot of land. He dreams of building his own house and to pay school fees. He will use this loan to buy an irrigation machine.

Maulid will share this loan with his loan group "Amani-Hondogo" with ten members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
