Marie, a 53-year-old married mother of two grown children, lives in a village near a town. For the past seven years she has been raising livestock, selling the resulting dairy products (milk, cheese/cottage cheese and salty butter) at the town market.

Says Marie: “I have to wake up early in the morning and milk the animals. Then, I clean up the stable and feed them. The rest of the day, I prepare the dairy products. In the evenings I milk and feed them again. My children help me with the activities; otherwise it would be very difficult for one person doing everything, because men in this part of the country don’t do any house chores.”

Marie is now requesting this loan in order to build a new stable.
