Mary is a single mother of 8 children, and four of them go to school. She also takes care of additional family (grandchildren). She has a business of selling charcoal and has been in this business for 8 years, selling to all categories of people on a retail basis. She has applied for a loan of 1,200,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. She generates additional income through selling used clothes. She works at the market six days out of every week. Her major business challenges include seasonality and thieves. She is aspiring of becoming a wholesaler and also to build her own house.
