Niña is 48 years old and married with one child. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental, Philippines. She owns and operates a pedicab to earn a living. She has been with her business for over five years and earns 5,000 Philippine Pesos (PHP) every month. She joined GDMPC in 2010, and now she has requested a loan of 7,000 PHP to purchase a new tire and repair for her pedicab. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
