Jasmin is 48 years old, married and the mother of two children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental, where she owns and operates a retail business in the local community. She has been in business for more than five and earns PHP 10,000 every month. She joined GDMPC in 2010, and is requesting a loan for 15,000 PHP to buy additional items to sell, including canned goods, eggs, sugar, and coffee. She plans to use the additional revenue generated by her business to improve her family's living conditions.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
