Honelyn is 32-years-old and a single mom with two children. She lives in Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur. She owns and manages a service of recycling and makes baskets, mat, etc. to earn a living. She has been with her business for over three years and earns PHP 3,000 every month. She has joined GDMPC in 2011 to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. She has requested a loan of PHP 5,000 to purchase raw materials. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
