Yeyen is 63 years old and married. She lives in Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur. She raises pigs for sale to earn a living. She has been with her business for over nine years and earns 8,000 PHP (Philippines pesos) every month.
She joined GDMCP in the year 2010, and now she has requested a loan of 10,000 PHP to purchase feeds for the pigs. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
