Doña Carmen is 50 years old and lives together with her husband and two dependent children. She is responsible, hardworking, and manages a business selling tortillas out of her home. She is requesting a loan in order to purchase and stock more corn so she can continue selling her tortillas. These sales are now her only source of income to allow her to provide a better quality of life for her family.

Like Kiva, Apoyo is committed to empowering women involved in business activities in rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand these services to an even greater number of poor clients in rural areas.
