Charlita is 38 years old, married with two children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She owns farmland, planting and harvesting vegetables for sale in the local community to earn a living. She has been with her business for over four years and earns 5,000 PHP every month. She joined GDPMC in the year 2011 and now she has requested a loan of 8,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer such as manure. She hopes for a bountiful harvest and to expand her cultivated area.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
