The businesses of the group members are varied: blanket weaving, mattress manufacturing, neighborhood grocery store, food selling.
The loan will benefit micro-entrepreneurs, one of whom is Ignacia. She indicates that she has been a member of Pro Mujer for six months, after having been invited to join by a promoter for the institution who visited her at her home. She will use this loan to increase her stock (purchase of quinoa wholesale) which she will buy in wholesale stores. After manufacturing, she will sell her products at her stall. This way of working allows her to generate resources to provide for her household because she is married and has three children.
When asked about what she likes from Pro Mujer, she says she likes the health care area and the loan rate.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
