Haydee is 29 years old, married and has four children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She owns and operates a retail business in the local community to earn a living. She has had her business for over three years and earns 10,000 PHP every month. She joined GDMPC in 2011, and now she has requested a loan of 12,500 PHP to purchase additional products to sell, such as canned goods, coffee, sugar, shampoo and soap. She plans to use the additional revenue she generates to improve and expand her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
