Elizabeth is 43 years old and married with one child. She lives in Tangub City, Misamis Occidental. She owns and operates a business raising pigs for sale in the local community to earn a living. She has been with her business for more than five years, and earns 7,000 PHP (Philippines pesos) every month.
She joined GDMPC in 2011, and now she has requested a loan of 10,000 PHP to purchase feeds for the pigs. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve and expand her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
