Conrado is 55 years old, married, and has three children. He lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. To earn a living, he owns and operates farmland, where he plants and harvests rice for sale. He has had his business for more than 10 years and earns 16,000 PHP every month. He joined GDMPC in 2010. Now he has requested a loan of 20,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer such as manure. He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve and expand the business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
