Andres
Andrés is 42 years old. He is married and in charge of 4 children, 2 of which appear with him in the picture. Every day, his children need to travel to the remote town of Mizque (~15 miles away) to attend school, far from where they live and earn a livelihood. Attending school implies additional expenses and sacrifices, which add up to the harvest losses and low yields Andrés has had due to an extended drought. Besides requiring agricultural supplies, the school year just begun and there is the need to purchase school supplies. The household's finances are thus unbalanced; therefore Andrés and his wife have decided to request this loan in order to purchase onion seeds, organic fertilizer and chemicals to improve output, taking care of priority needs and solve some financial problems. He also plans to grow a larger quantity of produce now, compared to previous years, so he can obtain a greater income through diversification.
