Kamleh is a 33-year-old Lebanese married woman. She lives with her husband and three children. She works as a private teacher and has almost nine years of experience. She likes her occupation and wishes to help learners with getting the needed education. She has arranged a special room in her house where she receives her students. As for her husband, he has been working in a local company since 1990.
Today, Kamleh is looking to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to renovate the teaching room at her house and equip it with the needed tools and supplies. She notes that these changes will increase her probability of receiving added students, therefore improving her income and thus, her way of life. She wishes to live a respectable life with her children; this is one of her greatest dreams.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
