La Source 2 Group
In this Group: Giscard, Melanie Modeste, Soumalai, Anoinette, Martine, Ginette, Antoinette
Giscard, age 42, is single with four children, ages 1 to 23 years old. He has two children currently attending school. He is representing the La Source 2 group. Giscard has an electronics game room where he has TVs and video-game consoles for people to use by the hour. These are very common in Congo as many people do not have DVD players and game consoles at home. He has had this small business for three years.

He will use the loan to pay for new DVDs and video games. His business strategy is to offer great customer service. He feels the way you work and interact with your customers is very important.

Giscard has received two previous loans from HOPE Congo, Kiva's partner. He has a good repayment record. He hopes to have a large building for his game room one day.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
