Maurice, age 37, runs a small-scale horticulture business in Elgeiyo Marakwet County. His wife supports him in running the business and producing additional income. He has been in this business for the last three years and earns a monthly profit of Kshs 10,000.
Maurice and his wife are blessed with three children.
He has requested a loan in the amount of Kshs 91,000 from KADET Ltd, which he intends to use to start a new barber shop business. He will purchase a pool table and equipment for the new shop with his loan funds. He will use the anticipated profits to expand his business as well as diversify his ventures to increase his income.
His hopes are to improve his family's living standards, to be financially stable, and to save money to enable him to pay school fees for his children. His aspiration is eventually to expand his new barber shop business to other towns.
