Arlene, age 43, runs a general store business to earn an income. She has been engaged in her business for over six years and earns PhP 8,000 every month. She and her husband have two children and live in Tangub City, Misamis Occidental.
Arlene joined GDMPC in 2010 and has been a member in good standing ever since. She is requesting a loan in the amount of PhP 10,000, which she will use to purchase products like sugar, coffee, soap, shampoo, and canned goods to sell in her store.
She plans to use the additional revenue generated from this investment to improve and expand her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
