Adelina is 53 years old, married and lives in the Philippines with her husband and one child. For the last five years, she has earned a living by providing transportation services to people who live in her community. She earns about 35,000 PHP a month and is applying for a loan for 45,000 PHP to repair the vehicle that she uses to transport her passengers. Last year, Adelina joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her business and life. In the future, she hopes to provide a better standard of living to her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
