In 1997 he started his coffee nursery bed projects on a small scale due to limited capital which affected his profitability. Then 1998 he joined UGAFODE Micro finance Limited (MDI) to get a loan with an intention of expanding his project. With the financial assistance extended to Reuben to expand his project, he was able to start zero grazing due to the profitability from the coffee project.
Reuben now has three cows on zero grazing and he has been able to educate his children using the profits obtained from the coffee plantation projects when he sells the seedlings to a National Agriculture Advisory project (NAADS)
Reuben also obtained this loan to inject it in the seedling projects in order to increase the business profitability. He will use this particular loan to buy organic manure that he will mix with the local soil to improve the quality and size of his seedlings.
He appreciates the support given to farmers which has enabled them to improve their standards of living.
