Jonalyn is 27 years old and is a single mom with one child. She lives in Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur. She owns a farm, planting and harvesting rice to sell in the local community to earn a living. She has been engaged with her business for over 3 years and earns 13,000 PHP every month. She has joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. Now she has requested a loan of 15,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer such as manure. In the future, She wants to make improvements to her house and to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
