Hamest is from Noramarg village in the Ararat region of Armenia. She is married and lives with her husband (in the photo) and father-in-law.
Together with her husband, Hamest runs a farm, which currently includes a cow, a pig and 20 chickens. She cultivates tomato as well as owns a plot of land where she grows peaches, apricots, cherries, plums and apples.
Hamest works hard to gather a good harvest. Her husband helps her to sell the gathered harvest in the local market to provide income. This agricultural income is hardly enough for covering her family's daily costs.
Hamest has applied for this loan to buy two bulls and forage for feeding the livestock. This will help her to expand her agricultural business and gain additional income.
The loan is very important for Hamest and her husband to gain additional income and ensure a better life for their family.
