Plimus is an aged man married to a hard working woman who does farming, especially growing plantain, a major economic activity in the area where they live. The main challenge this year has been banana wilt, a worm that attacked the plantains. Now the plantains are poor quality. The remedy was to cut down the affected areas so they do not spread the disease to other plantains. This has left them with limited resources to support the family. He will use this particular loan to buy fertilizers for the young plantains that have been planted where the affected ones were uprooted. They think they will be able to grow faster with the help of organic fertilizers. In the photo is Plimus and his wife.
