Arnold Gabriel
Arnold is 19 years old, single, and lives in the city of Pisco with his parents and siblings. He is a kind, hard-working and enthusiastic person with a strong desire to get ahead. Sadly, because of a lack of financial resources and needing to work to help his parents, Arnold has not been able to study the professional career in gastronomy that he wanted, but he would very much like to do so.

On his own initiative and with a lot of effort and determination, Arnold works as a dishwasher in a restaurant in his city. He works every day for approximately eight hours. He says that things are going well for him at work because he is punctual and honest.

Arnold is very grateful to Kiva lenders, because thanks to their support he will be able to buy various construction materials such as cement, sand, bricks and steel reinforcing bars. He will use these materials to build a room, since he and his family currently sleep in a single room. In this way he will be able to provide better security and wellbeing for all of his family. Arnold plans to continue working and striving to achieve his greatest dream, which is to become a distinguished professional and have his own home.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
