NIcholas, 59, is married, hard-working entrepreneur who lives with his wife and seven children, five of whom attend school. He is the breadwinner in his family. He owns a shop where he sells home-use items such as cereals, cooking oil, sugar and flour. He has requested a loan of KSH20,000 to buy bundles of wheat flour and sacks of maize flour. This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
