Saumu is a 44-year-old married lady living in Kaloleni, Kenya. She and her husband have three children. She owns a cafe where she prepares and sells food to customers.
Saumu is a hardworking entrepreneur. She wakes up very early in the morning to prepare for the meals. She has approached Kiva's field partner with a loan request totaling to KES 20,000 to buy food ingredients, including wheat flour, sacks of sugar and a sack of potatoes. She is grateful for the opportunity.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
