Everlie, a 41-year-old married mother of two, lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental where she has owned and operated a general store selling sandals and DVDs for over five years to earn a living. She is now requesting a loan of 14,500PHP to purchase ready-to-wear clothing and accessories. Everlie plans to use the additional revenue generated to improve and expand her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
