Eden, 32, is married with three children. She lives in Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental.
To earn a living, she owns and operates an upholstery business in her local community. She has been in this business for more than six years and earns 8,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) every month.
Eden joined the Gata Daku Multi-purpose Cooperative in 2011. She has now requested a loan of 15,000 PHP to purchase new items to expand on the products that she can offer.
She plans to use the additional revenue generated from her business to improve her family’s general living conditions.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
