Freddy Manuel
Mr. Freddy is a man who likes working; he enjoys his daily activity. He now lives in the city of Ica, a place where the sun shines the entire year, which is why it is known as “the sun’s land” by local inhabitants. This city is also famous for its exports, mainly artichoke and asparagus. During the last five years, Ica has developed with the construction of several shopping malls, which have created new and better job opportunities.

In order to get ahead in life and generate the income that he needs, Freddy works as a carpenter, producing and servicing doors, chairs and tables, among other products. He works for around ten hours every day, but he only receives one customer during that time, since he is meticulous and always wants to provide his customers with the best products. Freddy works also as a plumber, which gives him an extra income.

Freddy’s business is successful because he is well-known locally. He learned from a more experienced carpenter, who unfortunately passed away a year ago, a loss that still makes Freddy sad.

Freddy appreciates the help that Kiva lenders give him, since this is the second time he receives support from them. This time, he will buy a drill and an electric grinding wheel; tools that will help him serve his customers quicker and build a good reputation in his city and in other places. He is confident knowing that with effort and dedication he will have a well-equipped workshop and his own house.
