Asha, 42 years old, is married and has six children. She lives in Tiribe, Kenya. She has worked in farming for most of her life. She has been growing corn, beans, and potatoes for over 15 years and she sells these products at the local market. She has invested seriously in these crops by providing the crops with good care.
She is now requesting a loan amounting to 15,000 KES to buy potato seeds and manure. She will also pay for the labor to plant and maintain these crops. Her objective is to give greater care to the crops to increase her production volume in order to improve her income.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
