A loan of $1,425 helped to purchase general groceries for resale in her shop.

Akanké's story

Akanké lives in Lomé with her husband and their two children, the oldest of whom is three years and the youngest of whom is two months old. Akanké is 25 years old, and has been running her small grocery shop since 2009. She purchases her supplies at the Grand Market of Lomé. With her second loan from WAGES, Akanké plans to buy merchandise that she will then resell to her customers. In the future, Akanké hopes to increase her standard of living and ensure a bright future for her family.
