Hawa is running a shop in the area of New Kru Town where she lives. It is one of the early communities in Montserrado County that is well-known in Liberia. She has been running this business for the past seven years. She makes lots of profit since she sells quality fabrics in her community. Her profits are used for house rent, feeding, school fees, and to improve her savings account. A problem she faces is the slow pace of buying during the rainy season. She started this business by selling in a wheelbarrow in her community since she lives close to the local market.
She is requesting a loan to buy more fabrics and to add jeans, trousers, ladies shoes and handbags to her business. She has two children, ages 7 and 9, who are in school and live at home. Hawa is 29 years old and a high school graduate. Her plan is to expand her business and own a store house.
