Balai Rakyat 9 Group
In this Group: Farida, Gloria , Nanik, Helena
This group, "Balai Rakyat 9" from North Jakarta, is asking for its fourth loan from VisionFund. It is thanks to the efforts of each and every one that they are getting ahead. The group is very united.

One of the members of the group is Helena. Her husband passed away a few months ago. She has a business collecting used plastic and used metal to recycle. She has been in this business for 6 years. From this income, she can repair her house. She is very excited to run her business because she can help the old men who collect the used plastic and metal also. Usually, she buys 100 sacks every week. Now, she has seven sellers. Sometimes she worries about the value of the dollar being down because it will be reflected in the cost of her goods. With her business, she is growing and helps her family. Her wish for the future is to open a salon and a traditional restaurant. She has a dream of sending her child to study teaching.

Helena is asking for this loan to buy goods, such as used plastic cups, plastic beverage bottles, and used metal.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
