Carmen lives in the beautiful city of Pisco. It is known for its beautiful beaches and tourist attractions such as the Islas Ballestas and the Paracas Candelabra. There is also fishing and agriculture, especially cotton and corn, among others. Carmen lives with her husband and together they have a 5 year old child. He is her reason for getting ahead and giving the best of herself to show him that with hard work and honesty one can get ahead. She is a very loving mother and she likes to make desserts in her free time, since she is a good cook. She also likes to cook one of her favorite dishes, which is the delicious “arroz con pato” [duck and rice]. Due her parents' lack of resources, Carmen only went to secondary school, but she would have liked to study nursing.

Carmen has worked for 3 years and now she has been able to start her business selling shoes to support her home. With her husband, she is able to pay the family expenses She believes that it is going well for her because she is friendly to the customers, she offers quality products and above all, she is well known and her customers always come back.

Carmen is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since this is the second time they have offered their valuable help. At this time, she will be able to buy shoes for the summer season and thus have a wider variety of styles to offer her customers and improve her income. This way, she can keep growing and putting her efforts into her work to be able to achieve her biggest dream: "give her son a good education and grow even more in her business."

Carmen vive en la linda ciudad de Pisco, conocida por sus lindas playas sus atractivos turísticos como las Islas Ballestas y el candelabro de Paracas, asimismo se desarrolla la pesca y la agricultura , en especial el cultivo de algodón,. Maíz, entre otros. Carmen vive al lado de su esposo y juntos tienen un pequeño de 5 años de edad, el cual es su motivo de salir adelante cada día y dar lo mejor de si para demostrarle que con trabajo y honradez se puede lograr salir adelante. Ella es una madre muy amorosa y le gusta preparar postres en sus tiempos libres ya que tiene muy buena sazón para ello y también aprovecha en algunas oportunidades para poder cocinar uno de sus platos favoritos el cual es el riquísimo “Arroz con Pato”. Debido a los pocos recursos económicos de sus padres Carmen solo tuvo estudios secundarios, pero le hubiera gustado estudiar la carrera de enfermería.

Carmen trabaja desde hace 3 años y con mucho ahorro logro iniciar su negocio de venta de calzado con el cual apoya puede aportar a su hogar y puede solventar junto a su esposo a su familia; ella cree que le va bien en su negocio porque es muy amable con los clientes, ofrece productos de calidad y sobre todo es muy conocida y por ellos clientes siempre regresan.

Carmen está muy agradecida con los prestamistas Kiva ya que es la segunda vez que le brindan su valioso apoyo y en esta oportunidad podrá comprar zapatos por temporada de verano y con ello podrá tener mayor variedad de modelos para ofrecer a sus clientes y mejorar sus ingresos; así de esta manera podrá seguir creciendo y seguir dándole muchas ganas a su trabajo para poder conseguir cumplir su más grande sueño:” Darle una buena profesión a sus hijos y crecer aun mas en su negocio”.
