Elizabeth is 43 years old and married with four children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. For over five years, she has owned and operated a farm, planting and harvesting coconut for sale in the local community; she earns 4,500 PHP every month.
Elizabeth joined GDMPC in 2010, and now she is requesting a loan of 10,500 PHP to purchase fertilizer such as manure. She plans to use the extra income to renovate her home.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
